The story of MATIS Paris began in 1936 with pharmacist and scientist Dr Eugène Mavromati. Working from the back room of a dispensary on Rue Fontaine in Paris’ elegant 9th arrondissement, he developed skincare formulas using carefully selected active ingredients.
In 1946, the first MATIS Paris boutique opened its doors. Inspired by the French tradition of combining effectiveness with pleasure, Mavromati expanded his vision beyond formulation to the complete sensorial experience of skincare, including refined textures, distinctive fragrances and professional facial rituals.
